Barn Conversions

If contacted by clients to investigate a barn conversion we will carry out a detailed measured survey of the barn in question at a convenient date and time.

Normally on a barn conversion the planning authority will require a structural survey to ascertain structural integrity.  We will liaise with any structural engineers to obtain structural appraisal reports that could be required.

Another aspect of barn conversions is the potential need for ecology reports and investigations for protected species, once again we can if required contact specialists on your behalf to carry out these surveys.

There may also be the potential need for archaeology reports and investigations to protect any archaeological findings and contamination reports.

Once all the preliminaries are dealt with we will then proceed with producing proposed plans and specification to clients satisfaction for submission to the local authorities.

On barn conversion we are often asked to produce large scale drawings of windows, doors, eaves details etc.
